‘You Are Broke Because Of Laziness And Blaming The Govt.’ Irene Kendi, CS Kobia’s Aide, Tells The Youth

A close aide to the CS in the Youth and Gender ministry has launched a scathing attack on the youth for always blaming the government because of their poverty and unemployment while in truth, the youth of this country are lazy beyond redemption.

Through a facebook post that has attracted so much criticism, the fiery lady compared the youth of kenya to their counterparts in Uganda who have embraced art and other innovative means to make a living.

The comparison ended win a condemnatory tone to the unemployed group in Kenya who she says, have always complained to the government about being broke and unemployed while in fact, the government is doing so much to ensure that the youth are exposed to opportunities and are empowered through all sectors.

Irene Kendi, the vocal former SONU Vice Chair and now attached to Gender and Youth CS stood by her ground, telling the youth not to expect so much from the government while they are offering so little.

However, true to the Kenyan spirit, Kenyans online didn’t let her comments pass and quickly pointed out the irony of her opinion and the privileged position she was speaking from.

Many Kenyans online condemned Ms Kendi for her repetitive reckless remarks and some even wondered how she ended up at the ministry that should be helping the youth find a soft landing with her backward thinking.

But while that remains to be debated, is it progressive for a SALARIED official in the MINISTRY of YOUTH and Gender Affairs to throw back the blame to the youth for their economic challenges?
