With nothing to lose, having been stripped of the Senate Majority Leader title that held him back like a tether, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has become more embolden.

Through his social media account, Murkomen has been throwing jabs at President Uhuru Kenyatta who has also launched an onslaught on Deputy President William Ruto and his acolytes.

In his latest tweet, Murkomen has taken a swipe at Uhuru, in relation to the recent media headlines as well as the Executive order that saw him make the office of the DP and Judiciary his subordinate.

” The 2010 Constitution did not anticipate that one man can be the President, Deputy President,CIC, Independent Commissions,DPP,IG, DCI,Chief Justice,Judge,Magistrate, Speaker Senate and NA, MP, Governor, Governor Nairobi&Kiambu, media owner, editor for all media houses all in one,” he wrote.

His sentiments got the backing of former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga who averred that Kenyans are witnessing an imperial presidency which essentially is a dictatorship.

“The 2010 Constitution decrees the decentralization and democratization of the imperial presidency. We are witnessing the resurrection of that presidency. It’s important to remember Kenyans resisted it for 47 years before the promulgation of the Constitution in 2010.”
