Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) is a corporate body established under the Statistics Act (2006). It is the principal Government agency responsible for the collection, compilation, analysis, publication and dissemination of official statistical information and its custody.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Manager ICT, the Young Statistician will participate in the implementation of identified programmes and activities of ICT Division.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting in designing, implementing and administering server systems, facilities and services in line with established policies, standards and procedures;
  • Monitoring and fine-tuning the performance of Network/Systems infrastructure;
  • Assisting in the installation, maintenance and support of networked devices, desktop Computers, Laptop computers, scanners, printers and tablets;4Developing reports for given assignments;v.Working closely with the Mentor, Supervisor and colleagues to implement programmes and activities of the Directorate;
  • Assisting in preparing for planned events and activities by developing and assembling information and necessary materials;
  • Participating in Directorate, Divisional and Sectional meetings and trainings;
  • Any other duties lawfully assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements for Appointment

  • Must be a Kenyan citizen;
  • Must have attained a minimum 2nd Class Honors Degree from a recognized institution within the last two years.in any of the following disciplines: -Computer Science; Information Science; Information Technology; Business Information Technology or any other related qualifications from a recognized institution
  • Certificate in any of the following;Certified Systems Administrator,Certified Database Administrator on mainstream RDBMS, Certified Network Administrator, Certified Linux Administrator or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be added advantage.iv.Experience with table-based HTML email campaign builds and testing;v.Familiarity with Google Analytics and web usage of analysis techniques
