Even after leaving out Aden Duale in the purge that took place at State House yesterday, recent information shows that the Jubilee Party’s Kieleweke faction is going ahead with the process of replacing the Majority leader seen to be much more close to DP Ruto than Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Hon. Kanini Kega, is busy calling, harassing and arm-twisting Nominated MPs to sign a list for the Removal of @HonAdenDuale as Majority Leader. Kieleweke needs numbers, even by force. The Real Boardroom is NOT Kanini’s 9th floor @KICC_kenya office – It is the People of Kenya”, Dennis Itumbi has noted on twitter.
Itumbi, a close associate of the Deputy President has also taken to twitter to give report on what transpired at State House yesterday. He alleges that President Kenyatta got a lukewarm reception from MPs after he dressed them down and promised them a bruising battle.
After the parliamentary group meeting held yesterday, Jubilee Party has today also shown intention of removing close to 5 associates of DP Ruto from Committees. Some of those set to be removed include Kimani Ichungwah, Moses Kuria and Joyce Chepkoech.
According to Itumbi, Duale is still being kicked out and the process is in its final phase. He says that a number of MPs have already appended their signatures and Hon Kanini Kega, tasked to carry out the activity is allegedly forcing some of the nominated MPs to sign and approve.
Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday told off Jubilee MPs opposed to his leadership calling on to them to respect his office. He also faced the DP and allegedly told him to respect his legacy by stopping his early campaigns. He also allegedly promised to stick to his word concerning his choice for president in 2022.
In reply, some publications have reported that the DP chose to keep his cool, later on noting that it was his bosses’ day to affirm his authority on the party.
