467 Test Positive For Covid-19 as 15 More Succumb

The Ministry of Health on Sunday, 1st August announced 467 new Covid-19 cases from 5,217 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

This brings to 203,680 the total number of confirmed cases from the 2,137,572 tests done so far. The country’s positivity rate stands at nine per cent.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement that from the cases, 454 are Kenyans while 13 are foreigners, with 242 males and 225 females. The youngest is a two-month-old baby while the oldest is 90.

Some 195 patients have recovered from the disease with 125 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care Program while 70 are from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries now stands at 189,131.

The national death toll rose to 3,946, after 15 more patients succumbed to the virus.
