Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has come out guns blazing against allegations that she’s secretly spying for President William Ruto’s UDA inside Rigathi Gachagua’s political camp.
The rumors started swirling after her recent condolence visit to Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah. Some media reports claimed that Ichung’wah hinted she was leaking opposition secrets to the ruling party.
Wamuchomba isn’t having any of it. She dismissed the story as pure propaganda and demanded proof.
“Hon. Kimani made a speech in my presence and never mentioned what the media is reporting. I’ve asked for a clip as evidence; none has surfaced,” she said.
She also complained that she was being labeled as a traitor because she had been acting out of compassion for the sister of Wandai Ichungwah, the one called Cûcû wa County, Wandai Ichungwah.
“I’ve become a victim of mercy,” she lamented.
Wamuchoma suggests that the allegations are just a ploy to silence her politically. She tripled her efforts to fight for the rights of women, victims of police brutality, and even oppressive laws.
“I will not be bullied into supporting factions I don’t believe in,” she declared.
Since Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment in October 2024, Wamuchomba has become one of the boldest critics of the Ruto administration. She’s also taken a front seat in Kenya Moja, the fast-rising opposition movement led by youthful lawmakers like Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino.
