Some Ford Kenya officials have opposed the National Executive Council’s decision to expel two MPs and an MCA.

The party’s top organ convened on August 17 and resolved to kick out Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu, his Kanduyi counterpart Wafula Wamunyinyi and Busia nominated MCA Cynthia Mutere.
However, Ford Kenya Kakamega County branch officials urged party leader Moses Wetang’ula to rescind the decision immediately.
Branch Chairman Abel Mutimba and Vice-Chairman Aggrey Mukana said the decision was ill-advised and divisive.

“The party is at the centre of a storm and we would not like to do things that could exacerbate the situation,” said Mutimba.
