It’s not the first time Onguso moved into ‘uncharted’ waters. In 2015, he left Mathare United and moved to South Sudan for professional football with top tier side, Malakia FC., becoming one of the first Kenyans to play in the league
The defender has played for several top Kenyan Premier League clubs, having started out at Mathare United before moving to South Sudan.
He later returned to the country and joined Western Stima. A good run with the Kisumu based KPL side earned him a move to Gor Mahia and later Sofapaka. From Batoto Ba Mungu he moved to Posta Rangers before settling at his hood club, Nairobi City Stars.
Onguso is also a former Kenyan international and was part of the Harambee Stars team that won the 2017 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
