Popular city preacher, Bishop Godfrey Migwi, has passed away.
According to multiple sources, Migwi died on Thursday morning, 2nd December.
The cause of death was not immediately established.
However, unconfirmed reports indicate that he fell ill this morning and rushed at the Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The man of the cloth was the founder of House of Hope church in Kayole.
He was also a renowned Kikuyu gospel musician.
Just like most celebrities from the Mt Kenya region, Migwi had taken sides in wars between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
He was a staunch supporter of the DP and often accused the President of running down the country.
He had also joined the Mathioya parliamentary race and was hoping to fly the UDA ticket.
In October this year, the pastor came under fire after posting a photoshopped image of ODM leader Raila Odinga with a witch doctor. He pulled down the post after criticism.
In addition, the bishop has been defending the DP’s donations to churches, saying “it is better to steal and take the money to church than loot and share with witch doctors”.
