Deputy President William Ruto’s poisonous food donations to Kiambu County residents’ allegations take a fresh twist as Kiambu County commissioner reveals shocking details and the mastermind behind the entire story.
The seems like someone was out to Turkish the second in commands humanitarian efforts to support vulnerable families amid covid-19 outbreak in the country.
The county commissioner Wilson Wanyaga disclosed that the food in question was distributed by Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichungwa and his aides.
The county commissioner spilled the beans affirming that he wasn’t involved in the DP’s food distribution revealing that the food came from the vocal Tangatanga legislator Ichungwa and his close aid.
“I was not involved in the distribution. Nobody else has distributed food in that area, it came from Mr Ichungwa and his team.” Wanyaga stated.
The Kikuyu lawmaker has, however, refuted the claims after being contacted by Daily Nation.
Ichungwa further maintained that the foodstuffs contained fake packaging and it didn’t come from them as they used organized channels for distribution.
“These are fake packaging and the said foodstuffs did not come from us. We distributed our food through organized channels that involved church leaders with an identified list of beneficiaries in need,” Ichungwa stated.
One if residents by the name David Githinji from Gikambura Kiambu County has given a different account of Ichungwa’s narrative.
According to David Githinji, at a vehicle pulled over on Sunday 24 May at around 4:30 PM and one of the car occupants signaled pedestrians to come and pick the food donations and sped off.
