The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has announced a move to petition the Senate and the National Assembly to initiate motion in a bid to oust President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to the LSK President Nelson Havi the move to impeach the Head of State is because of the President’s blatant disobedience of court orders and violation of the land’s Constitution.

Speaking during an exclusive interview Monday 8 June, Havi told journalists that President Kenyetta vowed to defend the values of land’s Constitution as any other state officers, including the Chief Justice and advocates.

“It has become the order of the day for the government to disobey court orders  in manner to suggest the Constitution is an inconvenience to them,” Havi stated.

The LSK boss further revealed that it has been six months down the line since Chief Justice David Maraga requested the swearing-in of 41 judges, but the President has taken no litigation.

“It is either President Uhuru Kenyatta’s legal advisors who are the Attorney General Kihara Kariuki and the Solicitor General are giving him the wrong advice or he has simply refused to listen to their good advice,” he noted.

Havi further added the members of the two houses will receive a charge sheet and are required to respond in seven days with reasons why they should not be removed from the list.

“After that, they will be expected to appear before the council and the members where they will be given an equal opportunity to defend themselves,” Havi added.
