The wife of Sirisia MP John Walukhe is pleading with Kenyans to help her raise her husband’s fine, so that he does not go to prison for the 67years. Roselyn Walukhe, who has taken it upon himself to try all she can to save her husband, has given Kenyans her MPESA line, with hopes of getting assistance.
” You are aware of our problem and I thank those who have stood with us during this challenging time and kindly continue praying for us. We are requesting for your financial assistance. Kindly channel your financial support to my number 0728732542 as we wait for an M-Pesa Paybill number,” said the MP’s wife.
Delivering the ruling on Monday, Anti-Corruption Magistrate Elizabeth Juma ruled that Walukhe and his co-accused businesswoman Grace Wakhungu are guilty of fraud, having received Sh300 million from the National Cereals and Produce Board, NCPB in 2004.
Court documents show that they received the money as payment for the supply or white maize. In her verdict, the Magistrate ruled that there was evidence to show that they forged an invoice to demand payment of the money charged as storage fees for the maize they said they imported from Ethiopia. She ordered them remanded at Kileleshwa Police Station until June 25 when they will be sentenced.
During their trial, the court heard that the acussed jointly with the late businessman Jacob Juma and Brian Yongo shared the money that was paid by NCCB to the company’s bank accounts. The court found that even the Letter of Credit they demanded from NCPB could not be issued because the contractual agreement had not been signed.
