Former US President Barack Obama confirmed on Sunday that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and that he was otherwise healthy, apart from a scratchy throat.
“I’ve had a scratchy throat for a couple of days, but am feeling fine otherwise,” Obama wrote on Twitter.
“Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative.”
After spending part of the winter in Hawaii, Obama had just returned to Washington, DC.
According to CNN, he screened positive in DC, according to a source close to him.
The former US president added: “It’s a good reminder that, even as cases go down, you should get vaccinated and boosted if you haven’t already to help prevent more serious symptoms and giving COVID to others”.
