A petition has been filed at the High Court seeking to stop interviews by the office of the Director of Public prosecution Nordin Haji slated for 28th of April this year.
Petioner Memba Ocharo though his lawyer Danstan omari wants the high court to halt the interviews accusing Haji of depicting nepotism in three posts claiming the candidates shortlisted for the position of principal administrative officer, senior supply chain management officer 1 and senior principal finance officer come from the same ethnic and religious backgrounds as that of the DPP.
“The matter has raised eye brows with in the public on equal opportunities especially on matters of employment.” Ocharo argues.
He said the actions of the DPP are a violation of articles 72(3) and 232 of the constitution and section 3 and 7 of the leadership and integrity Act.
Ocharo has urged the court to grant his prayers saying Kenyans have no faith in the process.
On 29th March this year, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions on its website released a list of candidates shortlisted for 20 positions in various departments including supply chain management, ICT, administration, accounts and human resources management.
The public service commission has been listed as the second respondent with the the speakers of both houses of Parliament, the National Treasury, office of the ombudsman and the EACC listed as interested parties.
