This incident follows a recovery mission of rifles and ammunition that were on 28th March 2020 stolen from Kibos Police Post armoury.
A 19-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the theft of the firearms.
The suspect took advantage of a heavy downpour, broke into the armoury and stole three rifles, four magazines and about 150 rounds of ammunition.
Upon interrogation, the suspect led officers to the house of another of his accomplices within the same locality where among other items were recovered: Three police jungle jackets and trousers, three jungle belts, three service colour belts, two berets, a police manual, a pair of military boots and a TV set.
The said items were identified as having been stolen from the house of an Inspector of Police on 10th March 2020 while he was undertaking a course at the National Police College Main Campus- Kiganjo.
The DCI says that suspect later robbed over 230,000 shillings from an Mpesa operator at Daraja Mbili in Kisumu.
Further investigations are ongoing in a bid to recover the remaining rifle.
