Varsity Student Arrested For Selling Fake KCPE, KCSE Exam Papers

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a third-year economics student of Zetech University for selling fake KCSE and KCPE examination papers.

The suspect identified by name as Oscar Brighton was arrested on Thursday, 10th March by undercover agents attached to the Kenya National Examination Council, monitoring and surveillance unit.

According to the DCI, the suspect was in possession of fake examination papers, while others were stored in his mobile phone.

“He had created several WhatsApp groups where candidates were asked to deposit between Ksh1,600 for Humanities to Ksh2,600 for Sciences,” the DCI said in a statement.

The suspect who is a serial offender is currently in custody will be charged with contravening section 28 of National Examination malpractices Act 29, 2012.
