WhatsApp can allow speeding up audio messages forwarded – Nairobi Times

WhatsApp works so that it is possible to accelerate audio messages forwarded, discovered the website WABetaInfo this Monday (22). Available to everyone since May, the function of listening to audios at speeds higher than the original recording currently does not work for recordings forwarded to other chats.

Once released, the feature will work in a very similar way to the current one: as soon as a forwarded audio message is started (either sent or received), just select the audio icon to vary the speeds between 1x, 1.5x or 2x.

Speeding up audio messages forwarded to other conversations was one of the absences that only users who use both features noticed, but it is still important. On Telegram, WhatsApp’s main rival, broader support has been available for a long time.

Currently, the function isn’t even available to testers, but it was spotted in the code for the latest iOS Messenger testing version. So, if there is no prediction even for users who use the experimental distribution, there is also none for the general public.

WABetaInfo didn’t go into details about how the resource works, but in a GIF shared by the website, you can see the file playing faster. If the tool is already up and running, it shouldn’t be long before WhatsApp experimenters start receiving it via auto-update — if you’re one of them, stay tuned for messenger updates on the Play Store and App Store.
