Flamboyant Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has once again offered to help two other police officers who arrested him and bundled him into a police chopper during his dramatic arrest in Voi.
Richard Cheruiyot who works with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Wundanyi called Sonko’s communications officer asking for help after he heard the county boss had offered to help his retired colleague in child upkeep drama.
As earlier reported by TUKO.co.ke, the governor offered to pay KSh 300,000 for retired Voi base commander identified as Mureithi who was caught up in a dress down by his baby mama demanding for child upkeep.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, June 17, Sonko shared audio clip of the troubled police officer who said he had a bullet lodged in his veins and for years it has not been removed.
“I usually have high blood pressure but first of all I have a bullet which has not been removed, it is lodged in my veins and I was shot by criminals when I was working in Thika, several attempts to remove it have not been successful,” narrated the officer.

On his part, Sonko replied saying he was ready to pay for his medical expenses and that of another officer with kidney complications despite all that they did to him saying “do not pay anyone evil for evil.”
“I wish to confirm that I have accepted to meet the medical expenses of this senior DCI officer. I’m ready to meet the expenses of the third officer who has also developed kidney complications,
“I’m not trying to mock the officers who arrested me or protest against my arrest as I’m not above the law but the manner in which I was forcefully bundled in a police chopper with two handcuffs from Voi airstrip to Wilson airport was not proper,” said Sonko.
